The Lodge is located in the Neblina Cloud Forest Reserve. Visitors can enjoy 3,000 hectares of largely intact cloud forests. We have many birds, lovely waterfalls, and surprising plants. The Lodge is ideal for birdwatchers and all others who seek to enjoy the tranquility of nature!

Only three hours from Quito and accessible by normal car. In Google Maps unfortunately you cannot see the road that leads to the lodge, but in Openstreetview and Waze you can. See below for the location and detailed directions.
1. Drive to Otavalo on the Panamericana
2. Turn left in Otavalo on the Calle Otavalo-Quiroga.
3. In Quiroga, turn left again on the Via Cotacachi-Quiroga-Cuicocha.
4. Pass the Cuicocha Lake (a nice stop!)
5. Continue straight until you get to the junction with Freedom Road. This road is not visible on Google Maps, but it does exist! With Waze and Openstreetmap.org you can see the road.
6. Continue for 3 km on the dirt road Freedom Road. The road is a bit bumpy, but in general in a good condition. You don’t need 4×4!
7. After 3 km, you’ll see a sign on the left with “Neblina Bird Lodge”. You’ve arrived!
I always dreamt of having my own ecolodge. A place to share the beauty and serenity of nature with visitors. Ever since I was 5 years old, I’ve been coming to this place. My late uncle taught me everything he knew about the forest and his love of the land. I used to camp here alone, just to enjoy the beautiful views. In 2022, my dream came true when I finished building the lodge. It has a unique style – because I designed it myself! Yet it offers all the comforts you need. I hope to welcome you here soon.
